Constitution Update
At last week's board meeting we voted on and passed a new Mountain Club Constitution. Thanks to all those who came out to vote. The official text will be on our website once it has been approved by the Constitution Committee.
Are you hosting a prospective student who is interested in the outdoors community at Midd? The Mountain Club and Brooker House are having a fireside tonight from 9:30-10:30 for prospies. Bring them by for snacks and fun!
Mountain Club Tee Shirt Order

We're ordering shirts with this design on them. The number of orders will dictate the price but it should be around $15. Please submit orders by April 20 so we can get them by the end of the year. Link to pre-order here.

Franconia Ridge Traverse in the Whites with Andrew and Morgan

Friday, April 22nd-Saturday, April 23rd

Start your weekend with an epic overnight trip in the White Mountains! We'll leave Friday afternoon at 4:00pm and spend the night car camping at Lafayette Campground. We'll wake up early on Saturday, climb up to the Ridge, and bang out three incredible peaks with perhaps the best 360-degree views in the East — Little Haystack, Mt Lincoln, and Mt Lafayette. We'll end this long day descending back down to Lafayette Campground, completing the Franconia Ridge Loop. We'll then head back to campus that Saturday night. Don't expect to carry heavy packs, as we'll only need to carry enough for this one long day of trekking! Backpacking experience or strong physical endurance required. Sign up here.

Meditate Outside
with Sofia and Sebastian

Friday, April 22nd-Saturday, April 23rd

Come join us for a relaxing time meditating, wandering, and camping at Silver Lake! We will leave on Friday afternoon at 4:15 PM, set up a base camp, and begin a day and a half of wandering, meditating, sunset watching, and eating. We will be back on campus by 5 PM on Saturday. This will be a great way to explore meditation, no matter what your skill level, and a great way to connect with nature in a relaxing way. Sign up here.
Fortnightly Feature
Spotlight on nearby trails
We are excited to introduce our third Fortnightly Featured Trail! MMC loves these trails, and you will too. We choose accessible day hikes that you can hike on your own time.
Buck Mountain:
Buck Mountain is a great place to spend a lazy spring day enjoying the sunshine and views of the Adirondacks. For how short of a hike it is, this mountain has some of the best views in Addison County. It also happens to be close to Vergennes, where you can grab something to eat before or after your hike (the Vergennes Laundry is an especially yummy bakery).
Directions to the trailhead are here. There are a few pull-offs for parking. Avoid the muddy section at the beginning by taking a cut-off trail, which comes out a bit farther down the road, by the second pull-off if you are heading east.

Do you love going on trips? Do you admire your awesome MMC guides? We're always looking for new MMC guides. Become one yourself by following these 5 easy steps! Email the head guide, Parker Peltzer, at ppeltzer@middlebury.edu with any questions.
