Welcome New Members!

We'd like to take this time to share what the Mountain Club has to offer and remind everyone as well. We offer FREE (yes free) gear rentals in the Freeman International Center (the weird grey building near Bi-Hall) where you can get sleeping bags, tents, backpacks, stoves, skis, snowshoes, and more! Hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-7:00 pm.

Weekly board meetings are held in Coltrane Lounge (white building across from Ross Dining) at 6:00 pm. All are welcome.

Want to plan a fun trip with your friends? The Mountain Club can help make your adventure possible. Learn more and apply for an Adventure Grant here.

Look out for fun events like Fireside, a dinner that happens monthly at the Outdoor Interest House. Anyone is welcome to come and share a meal by the fire place. Bring your friends!

Kick off winter carnival with a classic Middlebury hike up Rattlesnake Cliffs. We'll leave mid afternoon and be back by dinner. Approximately 3 miles round trip and great views of Lake Dunmore. Open to all skill levels. Sign up here.

Wellness Walk with Sofia and Jenny

Join us, this Monday, for the first week of Wellness Walks--short, mid-week walks to nearby scenic spots. These trips are aimed to promote de-stressing by utilizing small chunks of time during the day to get off campus and into the woods. Walking meditation and contemplative practices will be offered, though participation is not required to join us! Our first walk will be to Lake Pleiad from the Middlebury Gap! If you can't make this week, look out for new walk locations and times each week. Sign up here.

Morning on Snake Mountain with Jenny and Caroline

No classes this Friday, so let's head off to Snake Mountain for a fun morning in the woods! It will be a casual hike, about two miles to the top with a 180 degree view of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. We'll leave at 8:30 and be back on campus around noon. This Middlebury classic is a great hike for any Midd Kid. Sign up here.

Hurricane Mountain with Kent and Alden

An early day hike out to the Adirondacks for the sake of challenge and the beautiful outdoors. Leaving early on Saturday morning and returning to campus by 4:00 pm. Come enjoy one of the Adirondack's classic views. Sign up here.

Ice Climbing with Ryan and Kent

Come learn how to ice climb with Ryan and Kent. Our destination depends on ice quality, but we will let you know as we get updates. Expect an early morning on Sunday and a fun day conquering ice! Sign up here.
