This Is Big Trips Week!
 Come one, come all, let's get outside! 
Mount Abe Sunrise with Emma and Ryan this Friday
 Join us for another fantastic sunrise hike up Mt. Abe! 
We'll head out early from ADK at 4:30am on Friday morning to catch a 6:55am summit sunrise. The hike is ~6miles round trip and we should be back on campus in time for 9am classes. All experience levels welcome! Be sure to bring some water, a headlamp, and shoes to hike in. Sign up here

Bike Overnight with Parker and Caroline
We'll meet at 1:30 for a late lunch in Proctor, then head for our campsite just above the beautiful Falls of Lana by bicycle. Expect to ride scenic dirt roads and carriage roads, best suited to a road or hybrid bike. Riders should be comfortable with bicycling for 2 hours per day on roads with cars. All speeds are welcome. We'll be back early Saturday afternoon.
We have a few appropriate bikes, trailers, and saddlebags to loan out. Please email ppeltzer@middlebury.edu immediately after registering to request any of this gear. You can also use your own bicycle. Sign up here.

Canoeing in the Mountains with Alden and Kent
Canoeists unite! Join Alden and Kent on an overnight to Waterbury Reservoir, hidden away in the Green Mountains in the shadow of Camel's Hump. We will enjoy peaceful paddling, tasty trail food, and killer company away from the big city of Middlebury. We will leave Friday at 4:20 and return for dinner on Saturday. Sign up here

Great Cliffs of Mount Horrid Overnight with Robin and Sofia
Don't worry about the scary name, this hike's good for beginners. We will start Friday off with a short 1 mile hike and proceed to eat good food. On Saturday we'll do about 5.5 miles, exploring the Great Cliffs of Mt. Horrid along the way, and will be back to campus by early afternoon. Sign up here.

Saturday Sunrise Hike of The Hump with Andrew and Erin
Celebrate the inauguration of Laurie Patton with a sunrise hike up Camel's Hump. We will leave from ADK at 4:15am and get back to campus by 9:30. The hike is five fun miles round trip and is open to all activity levels!! Super great snacks will be part of the deal!! Sign up here.

Saturday Canoe Overnight with Kent, Matea, and Sarah
Join us this weekend on an overnight canoe trip at nearby Waterbury Reservoir. We will learn paddle stokes and back country skills, cook a yummy dinner, and enjoy the beautiful Vermont fall. Any level of experience is welcomed!  We'll leave Saturday at 9:45am and return Sunday at 1:00. Sign up here.

Single Chair Saga (an overnight with Cole, Haley and Jenny) 
Starting from App Gap, come hike to the top of Mad River Glen, Sugarbush Mt. Ellen, and Potato Hill (Mount Abe) over the course of two days! On the first night we will sleep in the lovely Glen Ellen cabin. That evening we can take pictures on the Single Chair before proceeding up to the cabin. The next day, we will hike up Mount Ellen, bag Potato Hill, and finish at Lincoln Gap. Day one will be 4.4 miles with about 1000 ft gain. Day two will be 8.4 miles. Depart 4:15pm Saturday. Sundayrise with Caroline and Michael
See the sunrise from the single-chair at Mad River Glen! Look forward to a gnarly sunrise, excellent views, and snacky-snacks! Approximately six miles round-trip on the Long Trail. The van leaves at 4:00 am and returns at 9:00 am. Sign up here.

Epic TAM Traverse with Joe and Anahi
Did you realize there is an incredible outdoor resource all around you, every waking and sleeping minute of your time on campus? That resource is the TAM (Trail Around Middlebury) and we want to take you on an adventure to see all of its glorious features! We will be meeting in Proctor at 7 am on Sunday morning then hiking down to the organic garden section of the TAM. From there we will hike north to complete the entire TAM clockwise. This is a ~17 mile hike, it will be quite a haul! We expect to finish around 4 or 5 pm at Ross. Hiking experience recommended. We hope to see you there! Sign up here.
Apply for a Fall Break Adventure Grant
  Are you going on an adventure over Fall Break? Want some money for food or gas? Then apply for an Adventure Grant! Adventure Grants are reimbursement funds for student trips that aren't MMC-sponsored. The deadline is Friday 10/9, so apply here today!
