Flaming Flamingo this Saturday

Be sure to join us this year for our annual rejection of suburbia and celebration of summer warmth to come at Branbury State Park on Lake Dunmore. Will have a big BBQ, games, and of course a celebrity appearance by a flamingo. Grab your friends and come on down. We will have two buses running between 11:45 and 12:30 and to help students get there and around 4:00 to help get back, but feel free to pack your personal vehicles as well!

Flaming Flamingo Bike Overnight  with Parker and Sarah
Join us for the first bike overnight of the year!! Free yourself from finals franticness and frolic at Flaming Flamingo! We'll meet at 11, ride to Lake Dunmore and join in the Flaming Flamingo festivities. We'll then continue up to Silver Lake to camp out (and perhaps explore some of the trails). Each day will be 10 miles of riding with some elevation gain and dirt or gravel roads. We'll return to campus by 12 pm on Sunday.
Participants should know how to bike but do not need experience bike touring. A few bikes and trailers are available to borrow. Email if you need a bicycle or trailer (include your height). Sign up here.

Thursday Sunrise with Emma and Mara
Start the day right this Thursday morning by hiking up Snake Mountain for sunrise! we'll leave at ADK by 415 AM to get up Snake for a 5:30 sunrise. We'll be back on campus well before 8am classes. Sign up here.
2016 Head Guide Elections on Wednesday
Don't worry, Kent will still be Head Guide for fall, but we are electing his successor now, so that he or she can be more prepared for the job and so that the transition will be smoother. The Head Guide must be a Winter Advanced Guide, but anyone who anticipates attaining that status by the end of Fall Term can run. Candidates should email to announce their intention to run.
Anyone at all can vote, though guides in particular are encouraged to be present. We will hold the election at our 6:00 pm meeting on Wednesday in Coltrane.
Do you love going on trips? Do you admire your awesome MMC guides? We're always looking for new MMC guides. Become one yourself by following these 5 easy steps! Email your head guide, Kent, at with any questions.
