Goodbye J Term

Weekly Meeting

Wednesday, at 6:00, in Coltrane Lounge. This week we'll be planning Northern Lights, so come and get involved.
What do you need for your Feb Break adventure? Stop by the Gear Room in FIC Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30 to 7:00 for sleeping bags, stoves, tents, and more! Sorry, we cannot check out skis or snowshoes until after FOO! If you have either of those out, return them or face double fines.
Want MMC to fund an independent adventure? For questions, details, and grant application visit our website and click on the Adventure Grants tab!
Know a loved one or friend who isn't getting our emails? Friends don't let friends miss out on MMC events. Email mmc@middlebury.edu to subscribe!
Mount Abe with Emma and Ryan Week 3
Get up well before the sun to see it rise from the top of Mount Abe! We will leave ADK at 4:15 am for a 7:15 sunrise, followed by some sledding down lincoln gap and be back in time for 10:00 classes. Bring lots of warm layers (it's usually pretty windy up there), hat, gloves, boots, microspikes (possibly snowshoes), headlamp, and a water bottle. We will provide some scrumptious snacks. Should be lots of fun! Expect ~6 miles of medium-strenuous winter hiking! Sign up here.
Northern Lights is Coming
Winter Carnival will bring with it Northern Lights, the MMC's highly competitive winter bonanza. Start finding teammates for ice dancing, human dogsled, sled-for-distance, and more shenanigans to be announced in the next email. Watch for sign-ups. Also, if you want to help plan, come to Board Meeting this week.
One Week Older Outdoor Magazine:
The Middlebury Fireside

Have you ever done anything exciting outside? Did you get above a 200 on the writing section of the SAT? Well, The Middlebury Fireside is looking for story submissions for its first journal publication in quite some time! Some outdoor enthusiasts are working to get this beautiful aspect of the Middlebury outdoor community in full swing and need your help! Please submit your favorite tales, from the simplest jaunt across the Great Range to the most harrowing/death defying/finger losing/face freezing/crevasse traversing excursion on the TAM or worse! Please submit your writings to middleburyfireside.wordpress.com
(by the end of J-Term preferably) so we can get cracking on publishing and hopefully have a physical publication to carry with you and read to your future children.
