What do you need for your adventure? Stop by the Gear Room in FIC Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30 to 7:00 for sleeping bags, stoves, tents, and more!

MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL
Sunday, November 9, 7pm in Dana Auditorium
Each year the MountainFilm festival takes place in Telluride, CO, packed with all kinds of wacky, beautiful, and jaw-dropping outdoorsy films. And we at Midd are lucky enough to host its touring version right here on our own campus! Make sure not to miss this epic evening full of climbing, surfing, skiing, slack lining, and more! Join us at 7pm in Dana Auditorium.
Mt. Abe with Jenny & Robin
Friday, November 7
We will depart from ADK circle at 1:30 pm on Friday, November 7th for a short hike up to the summit of Mt Abe! The hike will total about 5-6 miles round trip and will offer great views! We will be back for dinner! Sign up here.
Rattlesnake Cliffs with Andrew & Angie
Friday, November 7
Hike Rattlesnake Cliffs with Andrew and Angie on Friday the 7th! The tails to the cliffs are closed for much of the spring, so this is a must-do hike for the fall! We'll leave campus at 2pm, hike about 2-3 miles round trip, and catch the last glimpses of the foliage! Sign up here.

Come out to Brooker House tonight at 7 pm for a homecooked meal and conversation around the fireplace with the Middlebury Mountain Club and members of Brooker House! Come in from the cold and warm up with real food! Bring friends and your own bowl, and we will see you at 7!! 
Mountain Film Preview @ UVM
Friday, November 7
Join some members from the Climbing Wall at the UVM Davis Center on November 7th for a night of climbing, skiing and other adventure films. Mountainfilm in Telluride is one of longest running film festivals in the country and every year they take the festival on the road. Started in 1979, the festival is committed to showing independent documentary films from around the world. Van leaves at 5:30. Email zperzan@middlebury.edu if you want a seat.

Giant Mountain with Andrew & Robin
Saturday, November 8
Get pumped to come to the Adirondacks and hike Giant Mountain! It's about an 8 mile hike with significant elevation gain, so some hiking experience would be helpful! It's going to be a super fun time! Sign up here.
ADK Hike Sampler with Katy & Jake
Saturday-Sunday, November 15-16
Come explore the Adirondack fire towers with us! We'll be leaving at 8 am on Saturday, November 15 and doing three different day hikes in the Adirondacks on this overnight trip. Saturday we'll visit Goodnow and Vanderwhacker fire towers before camping out, and then on Sunday morning we'll hike to OK Slip Falls before returning to Middlebury in the afternoon. We'll get the best of both worlds: lots of time hiking, but without heavy packs. Each day hike is about 5 miles long so be excited to cover some ground and see some beautiful places! Sign up here.
Work as a FOO Coordinator!
Work, with advising from the Outdoor Programs Director, to plan and implement all aspects of the February Outdoor Orientation (FOO) program. Select and train student leaders; train and supervise logistics crew; inventory, maintain and manage all equipment; design trip routes; plan and arrange trip transportation; design and implement leader training program; serve as primary contact person for prospective participants, leaders, and other interested parties; serve as on-call contact person when trips are in the field; review and revise Leader Handbook as needed; plan and present the annual post-program slide show; other duties as assigned. Must be willing to work some weekends, and Tuesday evenings during J-Term. Ability to comfortably hike 5+ miles carrying a 30 lb. pack necessary. Get more information and apply here!

The Mountain Club is trying to put together a database of popular hikes and trips in the area to assist people who want to plan a trip. If you've got a favorite local hike/backpacking route/any kind of trip location we would love it if you'd help us out by going to go.middlebury.edu/submitahike and filling out a short survey there. Jump on board with the Chicks Climbing Community for our casual weekly climbing dates: Mondays at 7pm and/or Fridays at 4pm at the Middlebury Climbing Wall. No prior climbing experience or equipment needed.

Outdoor Explorers
Do you love being outside? Love spending time with kids? Have some free time on Wednesday afternoons? You should consider Outdoor Explorers! Outdoor Explorers is an after school club run by MMC at Bridport Elementary School. We eat snacks, play outdoor games and teach young kids about the outdoors. It's loads of fun and if you're interested in joining us this Wednesday, contact Krista (kkarlson@middlebury.edu). We'll meet at ADK at 2:10 on Wednesday and be back by 4. There are only 4 spots, so it's first-come-first-served. If you don't make it into this week's group, there will be 2 more weeks!
