Prospective Climbing Guide Prep, Fall Break
Interested in becoming an MMC climbing guide? As you probably already know, to do so you'll need to complete the AMGA's Single Pitch Instructor Course. The prerequisites for this course include experience building anchors with traditional gear and leading easy to moderate traditionally protected climbs. If you're psyched but don't have sufficient traditional anchoring and leading experience, this is the workshop for you.  Join Derek for a two day intensive on traditional climbing skills. Participants may have the opportunity to lead actual trad pitches depending on skills and experience. Held 10/15-16 (Monday and Tuesday of Fall Break). Contact Derek Doucet (ddoucet@middlebury.edu) directly if interested in participating. Registration deadline is Friday, 10/5.

MOP White Water Kayak Intensive--A great way to get involved in MMC's boating program!
This series of pool and paddling sessions will cover all the basic skills and knowledge needed to get you started paddling on whitewater rivers. While the clinics are geared toward the beginner paddler, experienced paddlers will have the opportunity to refine technique, pursue personal goals and gain experience assisting with group leadership and instruction. The program will culminate with actual on-river paddling days in October.  If you are interested in becoming a kayaking guide or participating in MMC kayak trips: This is a great opportunity to gain experience given that only MMC trips can use MMC kayaks! For the breakdown of dates, see MOP White Water Kayak Intensive on go/boxoffice.
