SPI Training This Weekend

The MMC requires American Mountain Guides Association Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) training for its climbing leaders.  Come to the training THIS WEEKEND if you don't meet SPI prerequisites (http://amga.com/programs/rock_SPI.php), or to expand your climbing skills. It will include protection placement, anchor construction, lead climbing skills and considerations (no actual participant lead climbing is required), and an introduction to basic rescue skills. You should have sound belay skills, and be capable of top roping in the 5.6-5.7 range before signing up. EMAIL DEREK DOUCET (ddoucet@middlebury.edu) BEFORE THURSDAY TO SIGN UP.

Nor'easter 2010!
It's three days of sports, music, and conservation! At Loon Mountain in Lincoln NH from September 24th - 26th. Join the Middlebury contingent going to enjoy the finale of the national pro tour for rock climbing, a cyclocross race, and a bunch of other activities while listening to such groups as: Rubblebucket, The Walkmen, Dr. Dog, The Gaslight Anthem, and a bunch of others. Tickets are $75 for the weekend and there are a small amount of tickets available to those who email back first.
